Tara's topic for this week was even more difficult than ugly. I know that sounds crazy - it's joy, after all! - but the more I thought about it, the more joy I found, and I simply couldn't narrow it down. So, I decided to share a photograph from a joyful experience. This was taken one afternoon in Sorrento during il Carnevale in February 2006. Will and I were just over one month into our jaunt around the world and we had managed to (unknowingly) time our visit to Italy perfectly, as every place we visited had just begun their celebrations. It was one parade after another! People were everywhere, cheering, saluting each other (and us) and children squealing with delight. I kneeled down to photograph this little darling in action when he noticed me and the camera, wandered over, and scattered confetti all over us. In the background there are older children running around squirting that streamer-in-a-can stuff, too. It's so warm and happy and brings to mind some wonderful, joyful memories.

That outfit is fabulous! And what a cheeky face! x
This is a fabulous photo! It's even more amazing knowing the memory attached to it. The best photo's aren't the most pristine, and well composed ones but the ones that have memories and emotions tied to them. In my opinion. =)
