peter belanger

Peter Belanger is a San Francisco-based photographer who specialises in photography of people and products for big companies like Apple and Sony. He is also known for his excellent photographs of doughnuts (yes, doughnuts!). I think what appeals to me most is his love of colour and texture, the 'everyday', and the variety of his work. I especially love these four shots of mothers at home with their children: Peter's made it look like he just walked in, took a photo of everyday home life, and walked out again. What do you think?

I adore photography like this...Those look great! I am looking at them and comparing. So interesting how each family looks and the environment around them :)
Kisses darling and see you soon :)
Ps: I am off to check more of his work :)

Haha I love that in every shot there are toys on the ground. At what age do we stop thinking of the floor as an area for fun?

These are really cool. I love that they are so real, especially the scene in top right. Although that mom sort of looks overwhelmed to me, but I think that is part of the point.

Great pictures - now I want to hear the stories that must go with them!

There is something quite personal yet distant about these photos. The casual poses and the messy lounges littered with toys are in contrast with the distance between the photographer and the subject.

Great photos.
