My friend Irrum asked me to make and post about these Cherry Ripe Bites. Irrum whipped up a batch at home in London last week and just loved them. They're an at-home version of Cadbury's Cherry Ripe, which, apparently, is Australia's oldest chocolate bar (fun fact!). They're super easy to make and would be great for a special after-dinner treat or a hostess gift. We hope you like it!

Thanks, Krystal!
Beautifully photographed - actually one of the only sweets that I really don't like - but the way you photographed them is still beautiful!

Ps. Just checked out the recipie you used, and wondered what the substitute for copha would be in London? Don't think it's stocked in supermarkets here. Would love to try out this recipie. Thanks!
You can sometimes get Copha from Sanza: http://www.sanza.co.uk/apps/shop/product.asp?pid=7963&sc_Id=1472 Otherwise, you're looking for vegetable shortening. It's added to the melted chocolate to help it harden at room temperature. Don't worry too much if you can't find it, IM, just use groundnut oil (see Delia's recipe for the chocolate-coating on truffles: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/type-of-dish/sweet/home-made-chocolate-truffles.html )
Genius! Will try and test this batch to see how it turns out. Thanks again for such a lovely post on a Monday morning too! Just what I needed to see to start the week...chocolate goodness!!! xx
