The beloved Australian children's show, Play School, has just turned forty-five and the ABC is asking fans to share their PS memories. Well, in around 1986, when she came to my parents' backyard produce shop, Benita from Play School was my first-ever celebrity sighting. My friend, Louise, was over to play, so we both got to meet her (and her amazing hair, her friend and her friend's toddler). What a day! What are your PS memories?

How awesome! Such fond memories of Play School - I love the craft - I think we used to have a go at whatever they were making. Then as an adult, I loved John, he cracked me up. I LOVED the windows - of course the arched was my favourite, and I absolutely loved when they looked through the window and showed a little clip of stuff being made in a factory - eg rubber gloves etc - just fascinates me!!! Go Play School!!
Gay, I remember my adult sister laughing hysterically at something John said but, of course, being so little, I had no idea what he was on about. I gather he was quite the joker to keep the mums and dads entertained :D
I had forgotten about the clips - great memories!
ha! i've never even heard of that!
Wow! I loved Benita and her amazing hair. The preschooler watches it now and has informed me that they have 'a new song' (I think they have new introductory images).
I loved the clock that spun around slooowly to reveal the scene (that was about the story they were about to read?).
Ahh, Playschool. A classic.
