store front

Lucky me got this fabulous book 'Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York' as a gift from a client last week and I can't recommend it highly enough. It was on my wish-list but I had no idea it was so big and beautiful and am completely in love with it. Authors, James and Karla Murray also have a Flickr page where you can view some of the photographs. Over two-hundred store fronts are featured in the book and almost half are now gone.

I saw this book in NY and was going to to buy it (my dad's name was Ralph, so obviously I love the cover!), it's fantastic - just a bit big and heavy to carry home. Maybe I'll try Amazon!!

You will have a "small" piece of history in your hands. that's a shame that most of these stores are gone.

beautiful image.

This is totally my kind of book. I got something very similar from the Southbank Centre shop. Its about London Caffs (of which I am an avid frequenter).

Elizabeth, do you mean this one? My fabulous client gave me that, too. It's very charming.

Haha! Yes, that is exactly it. I love that book and never get bored of flicking through it. You have a very generous client with great taste!
