pink bubbles

I'm looking forward to showing you some home-grown watermelon from the farm, but we've tried two now over the past month and they're not quite ready. Perfect for juice, though! Aren't the dainty little pink bubbles so pretty?!

the ice book

Have you heard about The Ice Book? It's miniature theatre and animated pop-up book made from paper cut-outs, light and a green-screen by Davy and Kristin McGuire. "A paper theatre brought to life with light". It's lovely.

a waterproof camera at the beach

For a bit of fun on the beach with my nephews in Port Macquarie, I bought a little Kodak Sport single-use waterproof film camera. Even though a lot of the photographs are blurry (and I'm not even sure what some were) I think there's something really charming about them. Dogs are allowed on the beach:

heather's family portrait

I love Heather's Weekend Family Portrait. It shows Heather, her man Paul and their cat, Monkey. How cool that the photograph perfectly matches the colours of her blog, too!

for you

Last time was so much fun but quite a few people missed out (boo!) and my fab studio man keeps giving bonus small prints, so, I thought I'd keep it going every month. For February and for you, rad readers, it's Peonies in Full Bloom (6x4" in size and the crop is slightly tighter than this one below). I'll be delighted to post it to the first person who emails me at heidi@heidiadnum.com (who didn't win last time, to be fair!). Just be sure to include your postal address.

sending you flowers

From the garden at my family home on the farm. The hydrangeas are almost finished for the summer so I wanted something to remember them by.

wooden thread spools

During our little sewing project on the weekend, I found these darling old wooden thread spools. They're silk-look/pearl/luster cotton and were either made in Australia or England. Such treasures, don't you think?
I love their beautiful old labels and wispy little strands...
And their names... (how fabulous that my Mum once bought 'Fiesta Pink' and 'Heliotrope' thread for her sewing!)
And look at Mr Red Cinnamon - mm mmm!
